Lighthouse Learning Provision — Belong, Grow, Achieve, Thrive

Our approach

Relationships first. Regulation before reflection. Practical success as a pathway back to confidence.

Practice principles

How we work

Relationship-led

Trusted adults, consistent routines and professional curiosity create the foundation for progress.

Trauma-informed

Emotional safety, predictable responses and co-regulation come before challenge.

Restorative

Where safe and appropriate, learners are supported to understand impact, repair relationships and move forward.

Strengths-based

Programmes begin with what learners can do, enjoy and feel proud of.

Practical

Cooking, projects, community learning and real-life tasks make learning meaningful.

Outcome-focused

Each placement is linked to attendance, engagement, wellbeing, independence, confidence and next steps.

Behaviour as communication

Staff seek to understand triggers, unmet need, anxiety, sensory pressure, communication differences and environmental stress. We respond with curiosity and calm — not sanction — and we plan supportively for what a young person needs to feel regulated and ready to learn.
