Summary
Lighthouse Learning Provision Ltd is committed to making this website accessible and easy to use for everyone, including people with visual, hearing, cognitive or motor impairments, and those who use assistive technologies. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard.
Our commitment
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to: change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings; zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen; navigate most of the website using just a keyboard; navigate most of the website using speech recognition software; listen to most of the website using a screen reader; and access the site on a wide range of devices, including mobile phones and tablets.
What we have done to improve accessibility
We have built this site using semantic HTML so that headings, lists, landmarks and form labels are recognised by assistive technologies. All images have appropriate alternative text, and decorative images are marked so screen readers can ignore them. We use strong colour contrast for text and interactive elements, and visible focus indicators when navigating by keyboard. The site is responsive and reflows at different screen sizes. We include a 'Skip to content' link on every page and use descriptive link text wherever possible. Our policy pages are print-friendly and can be downloaded or read in the browser.
Accessibility standards
This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We test pages during development for keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, colour contrast and responsive behaviour. We also review the site against the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 approach as good practice, even though we are an independent organisation.
Known limitations
Some linked PDF documents are provided by third parties or were created before our current accessibility standards were in place. They may not all be fully accessible to screen-reader users. If you need a document in an alternative format, please contact us and we will provide it. We also continue to improve the site based on feedback and regular review.
Feedback and contact
If you find any accessibility problems, or if you need information on this website in a different format such as large print, easy read, audio recording or braille, please email us at info@lighthouselearningprovision.co.uk or write to Lighthouse Learning Provision Ltd, 231 Whapload Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk. We will consider your request and respond within 10 working days.
Enforcement procedure
If you are unhappy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice, or the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) if you believe we have not met our accessibility obligations.
Technical information
This website is built with React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS. It is tested in modern browsers including Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. We recommend using the latest version of your browser and assistive technology for the best experience.
