Summary

Lighthouse Learning Provision is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to making our provision as accessible as possible for children and young people with SEND, disabilities and additional needs.

Our commitment

We value every child, young person, family member, colleague and visitor. We work to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not, in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Protected characteristics

We do not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

Children and young people with SEND

Most of the children and young people we support have identified special educational needs or an EHCP. Our provision is designed around individual needs, with high staff-ratio support, trauma-informed practice, and reasonable adjustments made wherever practicable.

Accessibility of the provision

We consider physical, sensory, communication and emotional accessibility in the way we plan our environment, our routines and our learning. We work with families, schools and Local Authorities to agree individual reasonable adjustments before a placement begins.
